Winemaking and Analysis

• This Premium red blend has an intense concentration and flavour, creating a bigger, bolder
red than what is generally expected from our cool climate
• Component grapes from the 2022 vintage were mainly sourced from both our Estate and
Avonport vineyard blocks; a smaller component of grape was sourced in partnership with
several local winegrowers based around the North Mountain between Centreville and Cape
Blomidon
• 4 weeks average maceration and fermentation time, with a gentle pressing, helped add to an
intense inky red colour and great palate structure
• Only the best and most premium barrels from our multi-year red program are utilized. A
combination or French, American, and Hungarian oak barrels, of varying age and intensity
(from neutral to medium toast)
• Barrel aging for 15 months
• Full malolactic fermentation
• This blend has continuously been at the top of the LV portfolio (formally known as Black Cab
many years ago)
• Strong aging potential for many years
